From navigating a low ropes course to working together to build a boat, you'll experience hands-on challenges that require creativity, collaboration, and courage. It's not just about the journey—it's about how we lead together.

REGISTER

We’re excited to announce that registration opens on April 1, at 8:00 a.m. Please review the details below, as this year’s process has been updated.​

  • This event is open to CASC member High School and Middle School students only. (If you are unsure of your status, please contact us)

  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served process. Registration closes on May 1 or when capacity is reached (100 students).

  • Delegations are limited to 15 students and advisors to allow for more schools to attend.

  • Online registration only – phone or email submissions will not be accepted.

  • Once registered, schools will receive a confirmation email along with any additional information or requirements.

 

Conference Fees

The cost for attending MLSD has been set at the following:

  • $35.00/participant for CASC (Connecticut Association of Student Councils) member schools (students and advisers/chaperones)

Your registration fee includes lunch and conference materials. ​​

Final counts and registration numbers must be guaranteed on or before May 1

​

Cancellations

Group guarantees may be changed until May 1. After that date, you will be billed for the total amount guaranteed, as others have been turned away in your spot. Guaranteed numbers may not be decreased, however substitutions and additions will be accepted as space provides.

Low Ropes Course

The program concentrates on group skill development that involves physical and emotional risk and the opportunity to succeed within a supportive group atmosphere. The Low Ropes Course is comprised of over 30 different elements including a series of challenges using props such as;

wooden platforms, boards, ropes and cables designed for group participation regardless of physical limitation and ability level. Participants develop skills in problem solving, communication, decision making, trust, as well as a strong sense of self-worth and accomplishment.

 

Raft Building Contest

Try something new while testing your skills and buoyancy. This is a great group activity to work on communication and leadership. This challenge will break up into teams and attempt to build the perfect craft to carry your team out onto Dunning Lake and back.
